Volunteer at Ortiz
Elementary

Ortiz Elementary is a vibrant, diverse school community in north-central Wichita, and we have the privilege of coming alongside them in love and service. Explore the opportunities below and see where your gifts and schedule fit best! Visit the Volunteer page to let us know how you would like to get involved.

  • Adopt a classroom. Adopt a classroom and provide support for the teacher, as if you are a parent.

  • Become a "Bulldog Reading Buddy." Read once a week with a second or third grader. Second graders read from 11:20 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and third graders read from 2:30 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. Join us in helping kids grow in confidence and joy—one story at a time.

  • Fall festival. Volunteer to help with this fall celebration in the evening in November.

  • Adopt a family for Christmas. Buy gifts for a family. This might be an Ortiz staff member's family or the family of a student.

  • Winter festival. Volunteer to help with this holiday celebration in the evening in December.

  • Spring festival. Volunteer to help with this spring carnival and fundraiser in May.

  • Teacher Appreciation Week. Volunteer one day (or multiple days) to help with this event to celebrate the Ortiz staff in May.

  • Mother's Day Breakfast Celebration. Volunteer to help with this celebration of Mother's Day in May.
