Volunteer at Ortiz
Elementary

Ortiz Elementary is a vibrant, diverse school community in north-central Wichita, and we have the privilege of coming alongside them in love and service. Explore the opportunities below and see where your gifts and schedule fit best! Visit the Volunteer page to let us know how you would like to get involved.

  • Adopt a teacher. Adopt a teacher and provide support for the teacher, as if you are a parent.

  • Become a "Bulldog Reading Buddy." Read once a week with a second or third grader. Reading Buddies begins for the fall semester on Wednesday, October 1st. Second graders read from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and third graders read from 2:40 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. Volunteers arrive ten minutes early to get checked in. Join us in helping kids grow in confidence and joy—one story at a time.
