Sarah Amador

Treasurer, Board of Directors

Sarah Amador brings both personal experience and professional insight to her role on the board of Ambassadors of Dignity. Having lived as an immigrant in Nicaragua for a decade and supported her husband through the complexities of the U.S. immigration system, she understands the emotional and practical challenges many immigrants face. These experiences have shaped her heart with deep compassion and a commitment to walk alongside others navigating similar journeys.

Her motivation is grounded in the belief that God’s heart has always been for the foreigner. From Old Testament commands to care for the stranger to Jesus’ call to love our neighbor and serve the least of these, Sarah sees immigrants today as a group often misunderstood and mistreated—yet deeply loved by God. She believes Christians have a sacred opportunity to reflect God's true heart by offering welcome, dignity, and support to those seeking a new life.

Sarah lived in Nicaragua from 2008 to 2018, working in Christian education and becoming fluent in Spanish. She has helped multiple family members with immigration paperwork and processes, which gives her practical knowledge and empathy for those facing similar hurdles. Professionally, she has served as an elementary and ESL educator since 2007, and has held administrative roles in various Christian schools in Central America. Working remotely from her home in Wichita, she currently coaches school leadership teams across Central America, equipping them to lead with clarity, confidence, and excellence.

Her volunteer work has included assisting immigrants with legal paperwork, leading church mission outreach activities, coordinating prayer support for missionaries, and training others by sharing her experiences. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with ESL certification from Kansas State University, postgraduate certifications in Educational Psychology (Central Nicaragua University) and Inclusive Education (Dordt University), and a master’s in Learning and Instructional Design with a mentoring and coaching certificate from Wichita State University.

Sarah and her husband, Moises, have been married since 2009 and are raising two sons—Josiah and Caleb. In her free time, she enjoys reading fiction, baking, crocheting, exercising, and exploring nature with her family.

He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever. He gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. The Lord frees the prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down. The Lord loves the godly. The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked. â€â€Psalms‬ ‭146‬:‭6‬-‭9‬ ‭NLT
