José (Pepe) Fuentes
Board Member, At Large
Pepe was born in Mexico City, where he came to know Jesus in his youth. After studying Industrial Engineering, he worked at a satellite television company for 14 years, where he was a technical instructor and led a training area and a call center. He served in his local church in a variety of roles, working with both children and adults. Over the years, Pepe developed a deep passion for teaching God’s Word, which led him to serve as an instructor at a Bible institute.
His heart for outreach grew as he began sharing the gospel and providing social support to people living on the streets. This work opened doors for him to assist at an Alcoholics Anonymous center and minister to those experiencing homelessness. Drawing from this experience, Pepe helped launch and lead a Bible study group focused on addiction recovery within his church.
During this season of ministry, he met Angie—a missionary from Wichita, Kansas—who was serving in Mexico City rescuing women from human trafficking. They eventually married and now have three children. Together, they combined their callings to proclaim the gospel and extend practical care to those in need.

In 2015, God called Pepe and Angie to North Carolina, where they planted a Hispanic church. Later, their journey led them to Wichita, Kansas, where their third child was born. Today, they worship at Ridgepoint Church and continue to live out their shared calling to teach the Word and walk alongside immigrants facing difficult circumstances.
Pepe and Angie both work in Wichita’s public schools, where they serve primarily among the Latino community—bringing hope, support, and the love of Christ to those they encounter each day.
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. Isaiah 61:1
Their only suggestion was that we keep on helping the poor, which I have always been eager to do. Galatians 2:10
